We are speechless and genuinely saddened when we read some of the feedback that is being presented from our lovely supporters. There are so many heartbreaking examples pouring onto our petition page, we are truly speechless. We knew there was a huge systematic problem with the NHS and how complaints were being handled and your comments are beginning to confirm how huge the problem is and why we need the change as a matter of urgency!
Collectively and unbelievably we now have over 5,000 supporters in the first 2 weeks since we started our campaign and we cannot begin to thank you enough. We need to keep sharing our petitions over and over again to friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and anyone you can think of. Again are the links to share: https://chng.it/JRyrbfCGKB
Here are just some of the comments we have received in just the last few days so God knows how many other examples there are of people suffering in silence:
Rachel H - "I am so sorry to hear of your sad loss of Balram and I really hope you are able to achieve what you hope to with this petition. I have experienced huge trauma in the hands of certain "medical staff" and although there are some absolutely fantastic healthcare staff when you raise concerns or make complaints the PALS service is in no way fit for purpose and one of the two that I have had dealings with work Mon-Fri 9-5pm but you call them and just get an answerphone that still says due to government guidelines staff are working remotely and someone will aim to return your call within 3 working days! which is of no use when things are going wrong at that time and no one is listening or interested. When I did make a complaint after a 5 and a half month admission to one trust in Jan 21 that included things that took place during transfers to a different trusts hospital I was told that they would lead the complaint investigation and communicate and update the other trust, which they never did and as the 2nd trust hadn't logged my complaint due to human error they didn't investigate it until I went back to them and asked why I had not had a response. My complaint has now been with the PHSO for over a year and it is still ongoing and I complained because I didn't want anyone else to be treated in the way I was and I am sadly under no illusion that nothing is going to have changed for patients in a similar position as me. Thank you for putting such a tragic loss to hopefully inform good change. Best wishes Rachel."
Jenny Clough - "Our child was born with a brain injury due to medical negligence, leading to multiple complex needs including 40-60 seizures a day, our 22 month old little girl shouldn’t have this life and neither should we. All because the staff where she was born failed to follow procedures"
Llinos O - "Unfortunately I know from experience what can happen. “Lessons will be learned…..” Well, this isn’t good enough! ‘Mistakes/Negligence will continue to happen on a daily basis unless there are serious consequences. My sincere condolences to the family and I wish them all the best with this petition."
Alison M - "My son died at 7 days old but because a suitable number of doctors would of made the same mistake there was nothing i could do"
Ben C - "I also have a son who will be in hospital long term and it’s something I feel strongly about."
Rachael A-J - Deny. "Conceal. Deflect. These are the words used by Dr Bill Kirkup - author of reports into major maternity scandals - to describe the behaviour of NHS bosses. I have experienced it myself in NHS Continuing Healthcare. It seems that the NHS complaints system is designed to protect the organisation rather than right wrongs, especially as they are the ones 'marking their own homework'."
Lorraine F - "I’ve seen first hand unfortunately, cruel nursing staff & the power they have, it is frightening & frustrating as we’ve had no voice, they know there are literally no consequences that affect them, but that do to their patients & families!"
Kathleen F - "I'm signing because I feel patients should be entitled to a second opinion."
Raj Raichura - "This maltreatment of a helpless, dependent person must be brought to the attention of the authorities."
A G - "The NHS don't care for their patients anymore, we're all just a number or a statistic. The more they're held accountable the better."
Susan O - I have lost two sons due to the negligence and arrogance of NHS staff. PALS have been useless as have the pathologist and coroner who could only go on what the Staff Nurse has said no Doctor will put their name to the accidental murder of my son in April and the misdiagnosis of my eldest boy in 2021. We were in the ICU for 100 days and watched as the unit turned into what can only be described as a Euthanasia ward as we watched as families were more or less forced to sign DNR's. I am disgusted with them. My sons death in April was down to negligence. I feel your pain. We know the grief you are suffering. RIP Balram
Felicity D - "The NHS is in severe trouble!"
John M - "There isn’t much of anything good to say about the NHS. I for one am still waiting after over two months for my X-ray result."
Pauline R - "I have had bad experiences regarding NHS. RIP Balram."
Ray B - "In such circumstances, the investigating body should always be independent."
Lesley B - "My father passed away in March due to NHS , there is going to be an inquest in December but I'm not holding my breath that anyone will be held accountable."
Hena C - "This is heartbreaking and something needs to change"
Elaine C - "To0 many deaths and waste of equipment, too many managers and divisions taking high pay"
Rebecca N - "I have witnessed extremely bad practice with both my father and my daughter and it gets you nowhere if you complain with the systems in place at the moment ."
Sam M - "Experienced this with my mum for the past year. Still fighting the NHS to this day and never had an apology from them."
Richard W - "The Parlaimentry Health Ombudsman is a disgrace. They will ignore the proof sent to them and state you have made statements that you haven't. They toe the Government line and back the Hospitals up to the hilt. Never speak to them on the phone but conduct all business by email. You will get no justice from them so don't waste your time. They need disbanding and a proper independent accountable body set up to replace them."
Seddy A - "Far too many cases of abuse, neglect, lack of care, accountability needed"
Nigel P - "long overdue..."
Hannah M "This is happening day in and day out and especially for those with disabilities and communication difficulties are being fatally neglected and over looked"
R F - "Have had awful experiences too - both as a patients daughter and an NHS nurse - full accountability and transparency is urgently needed, it’s practically impossible to get any kind of scrutiny upon management actions and decisions"
Ronald G - "I would like to see Justice for the thousands that have died in hospital through what have been put down as procedure errors at places like Stafford, Nottingham etc., with no one held responsible?"
Tracy L - "It is imperative that all complaints are investigated in an independent way for clearer answers and avoid cover ups occurring."
James M - "In such circumstances, the investigating body should always be independent. There are way too many overpaid incompetent managers in the NHS"
Ian B - "My wife died from cancer 3 years previous the so called doctors did just enough to keep themselves out of trouble. Don't believe a word they say like we don't do that, that was a trial it's ended now Then make a complaint to the ombudsman and the n. h. s. Close ranks and its never there fault. Highest death rates from cancer in the Western world that's the NHS"
Robbie J - "The whole system needs shaking up. CQC ratings aren't worth the paper they're written on."
Patricia H - "I absolutely agree the NHS has become a sinister and belligerent organisation who think they are untouchable, I have had my own dreadful experience at their hands."
BoB B - "Most of the management that are in a position to investigate mistakes in the health service, are already being paid so much money that their overriding priority is to minimise any backlash that could affect their pay-cheque. The Police have a separate Unit that can investigate any criminality or unprofessionalism in the Constabulary. Even this system has it's flaws, but at least it's a start! The health service, both National Health and Private Care needs something similar."
Lea H - "This happens far too regularly and the complaints system is beyond useless . Time consuming and pointless. The NHS is meant to save life yet often destroys it . Without any accountability."
Yasmeen A "My husband concerns were not met like this story & he too passed away"
Sheila H - "This is heartbreaking stuff need to listen to families, have they learnt nothing from the death of Oliver McGowan and his mothers campaign."
Sue B - "The NHS does need to be transparent. They are not all ‘angels’ as they were stupidly and sentimentally called during the pandemic. Yes, the job they did became very very arduous and I’m sure the majority of them went above and beyond, but, the unlucky patients that fell victim to covid were not allowed visitors so we have absolutely no knowledge of how every patient was treated. As we know in normal times, there are many incidents of complaints of neglect and bad treatment so the individuals responsible for bad treatment of patients must have got away with it with no witnesses to their actions."
Loraine T - "Because I care"
Sally R - "It is important that patients are protected."
John R - "Freedom of speech is my right"
Neil M - "Fully agree Sheila, time and time again we hear that 'we will learn from what we did not get right and ensure this does not happen to others and their families' but as you say nothing changes!"
Christina G - "I was abused and raped in a hospital in Cornwall in March 2019. My records were changed and fabricated to hide what staff did to me…there was a whilstleblower who was paid off and promoted to ensure his silence.Despite several official complaints to both the NHS and police, it has been repeatedly covered up.They should be held accountable…. This country needs a complete overhaul of power."
Amanda A - "They have to be held accountable"
Terrie D - "My GP let my husband die by being negligent and not sending him to hospital. He would not even see him as it was 5pm and the surgery closed at 5.30p.. GP telephone appointments are useless!!!"
Gillian B - "For my Mother...PALS should be independent...the ombudsman is just a waste of time, they will string you along then tell you that you have been 'timed out'. It took a year to tell me that I was 'timed out'?"
Constance B - "Too easy to cover things up."
Andrew M - "Good Luck with this one."
Daniel H - "I’m signing because…It's about bloody time! How much time? About 75 years - and counting - too late so far. The NHS complaints process is about the ONLY thing they do that actually works! Works for them, that is. As for their PALS, firstly STAY AWAY from those deviant greased snakes in the grass, and secondly they should be "first against the wall when the revolution comes". Okay, we may have to adjust our "sights" on that one ;-)"
Wednesday B - "Please can you all take time to also sign the direct government petition for this cause, because at 10,000 signatures the government have to respond https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/643062"
Sheila E - "I was sexually assaulted in Sunderland Royal Hospital after I had a Stroke and then the Management put me in a locked mixed sex Ward to stop me making a Complaint."
Julie H - "It should not be up to individual health boards to monitor and respond to their own complaints, this is already a biased situation. It should be independent and will also highlight failings more accurately and transparently. Not only will this give patients and their families more confidence in the system in that they will have independent investigations, it will also ensure the NHS is monitored correctly to avoid such situations escalating and to provide statistics and better outcomes for the future."
Heather D - "My heart breaks that this young man was taken from his family so soon.In his innocence God love him he trusted those who were given the task of caring for him. Whatever has gone on here needs to be investigated"
Ian B - "We need a independent agency so that the senior NHS Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses etc and who ever is involved with the hospital if they have done wrong they can’t close ranks so no body can stand against them"
Anna L - "I totally agree a close friend of mine had a baby die due to neglect from doctors and it has taken its toll on her health her life and her family"
keith s - "Jay, they will tell you you already have an independent investigative body - the PHSO (Parliamentary and) Health Service Ombudsman. That is a bad joke. It leans heavily towards the hospitals, upholding around 1% of all complaints it receives about them each year now. It is supportive of them to a degree which is unfair, offensive and demeaning. You get one case worker and a line manager, in cahoots, you cannot reasonably take things any further. Other than a judicial review in court. Upwards of 50K, just to examine, not the evidence, but whether the i's have been dotted and t's crossed in the Ombudsman's processes (which the court will always tell you have been). The NHS written complaints system itself is corrupt by design; it is there to do one thing, and one thing only - and that is not to accept responsibilty for wrongdoing. Fend off damage to its reputation. It will happily tell you it does not exist to assign blame to individuals, either. When wrongdoing is intentional, staff know their Trust will still"
Lee M - "We must have transparency when something goes wrong."
Kym F - "It's the human in me."
STEPHEN P - "The NHS is not a great thing it is a poor way of providing an essential service, done better elsewhere"
Stephen S - "Personal experience."
michael L - "Too much “ Moving those responsible to other positions in NHS.”Making sure Whistle Blowers are never prompted"
Jan B - "I have been harmed by NHS "mistakes". A truly independent body to investigate is sorely needed."
Mark K - "My friend died following similar failures. Is this the new norm?"
Gerardi B - "I have first hand experience of clinicians not listening to the family, not acting in the patients best interests and then covering up their incompetence, This incompetence, rather than being exposed by the PHSO is excused and brushed under the carpet. It is about time that honesty and integrity are upheld and those who fail our loved ones are brought to account ! I whole heartedly support this petition."
Christine R - "This has got to STOP, the NHS needs to be held accountable for the unnecessary suffering and premature deaths in the UK!"
karen t - "Because we need to ensure patient wellbeing is protected at all times"
Jenny C - "Our child was born with a brain injury due to medical negligence, leading to multiple complex needs including 40-60 seizures a day, our 22 month old little girl shouldn’t have this life and neither should we. All because the staff where she was born failed to follow procedures"
Ruth L - "I know that patients with additional needs are often failed by the NHS"
Carolyn H - "This has to change before any more loss of lives."
Gillian P - "PALS is ineffective and despite promising change nothing happens. The complaint system needs to have teeth."
Ruth Loxham - "I know that patients with additional needs are often failed by the NHS."
Moira Monaghan "This is not the first and certainly wont be the last God Bless Balram and family."
Cheryl Doyle "after my horrendous cancer journey of failings which they discharged me without testing my lymph nodes they took out i fully support this"
VEE L "I'm glad people have brought this up. I know many of the hospital staff are wonderful people who truly want to help. but there's those few who only care about picking up their pay cheque sad to say. I really don't know why they choose this profession unless it's just so that they can feel "holier than thou". It's about time these people were flung out on their ear. So many immigrants that filled the roles were fired because of the Brexit B.S. that shouldn't have happened. Which also means if we want to hold hospitals to account then we have to regard the politicians partly to blame."
Florence M "Because of poor care towards my husband and myself when we were patients"
T D "I am having ongoing issues with my care with the NHS and wish to see people held accountable for the actions at every level."
Leonie P "Many people living with myalgic encephalomyelitis have had poor experiences in hospital despite NICE guidelines suggesting appropriate lines of action. PALS does not help. Some have died due to malnutrition & neglect."
Carol L "Of experiences both in my family and when I worked with people with multiple disabilities. Both the Complaints / comments system and training in awareness poor to going into practice are inadequate and outdated."
Mark C "I'm actually experiencing this first hand...,...pls can someone contact me as I'm voice recording everything i can & a reliable source to take this on asap
Karen R "This is not an isolated case.. too many people are having their civil liberties taken away when in hospital , many are dying and PALS has become a mere talking shop."
Valerie S "Too many mistakes in past few years putting patients at risk."
Beverley K "RIP Balram ❤️We are supporting your father who is fighting for you and many others."
John B "Stop the suffering NOW."
Victoria P "I am signing this petition because my Deaf partner, Daniel Reid, has died without BSL interpreter in July 2023. At the hospital, they does know about accessible information standard. they all failed to inform Daniel when he went to the hospital complain of the pains in his stomach and his right leg. He had heart condition and DVT. They should have asked Daniel of his Equal and Human rights to able to access to BSL (British sign language) interpreter for Daniel to able to explain what is the problems. they dismissed his worries and given him all wrong kind of advices that leads to his death. Paper and pen doesn't saved Daniel's life. Pals made me so angry that they are not taking my complaints seriously! A nurse she described to me in hand gestures on how they will cut my Daniel up like a slap on the meat! It was horrible. I had a go at her by saying do you think I am that stupid? she looked up and realised what she had done. She walked off. told to other nurse. this nurse came in while I am saying my good by"
Vanessa F "The NHS is no longer fit for purpose. There are far too many unnecessary non-medical staff creaming off the nation's money via their inflated salaries; far too much emphasis is put on prescribing useless and often harmful drugs; far too many doctors and nurses seem to neither understand nor care about health and disease; and there is far too little attention given to the needs and wishes of the patients."
Stephen N "Nothing else will suffice."
Chris H "There is a Welsh Government funded body that monitors Health and Social Care in Wales called Llais. They also offer a free advocacy service to investigate complaints."
Sheila T "I have had bad experiences with the NHS when complaints were raised."
Jackie S "Good luck with this. I've just signed another petition for a young home/ bed bound woman too ill to eat or drink much, refused home infusions of food and drink by an NHS trust. Why? - because they'll only give it to her if she will travel to them. She is too ill to do so, which they know. This is also in contravention of several national/international guidelines on basic human care where NHS staff have 'reinterpreted' guidelines to suit themselves. Patients are being needlessly killed in an appalling and inhumane way and, if shown to be the case, we must have prison sentences for these kinds of sub humans/ staff."
Simon B "The NHS are unable to carry out investigations independently and thoroughly"
Minati D "Most definitely needed. Too many blunders and tragedies happening."
Corinna "my father had a sad death because of poor care by a particular consultant - this is heartbreaking and I feel for other families"

Robert A "We have a failed health system. We now call the no hope service."
Ursula R "I lost my son last year due to a miscarriage diagnosis by a consultant.Despite the family questioning it at the time.It is now being covered up."
Peter F "I know of many people who are afraid to complain because they fear repercussions"
J L "I'm signing because the NHS has mistreated me for far too long. In roughly April of 2022, I was experiencing severe stress, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. being on the autism spectrum is difficult and I've never been offered support for it. The NHS are the only ones who can get me the help I need. Instead they took my appointments as jokes (Princes Park Surgery) and decided it would be funny to misdiagnose and mistreat me, saying I have IBS, hemmeroids, anal fissure, "standard depression", and asthma, Two of those were true, that was the hemmeroids and fissure. They treated it with an ointment that gave me allergic reactions, and never gave me proper instructions on how to use them, or how far to apply it. I still have these to this day, it's caused nothing but agonizing pain and discomfort with how terrible their advice is, to the point where I'm willing to put my life on the line to call them out in public. My 2nd surgery isn't much better, but it isn't trying to misdiagnose me at least and prescribe something"
Patsi W "My ex husband has been damaged by the covid vaccine"
Keith G "PALs who handle Hospital complaints are worse than useless..."
Steve W "These lot today are not nurses doctors of old, I don't think they care one bit"
Keith G "As I suspect have a great many people..."
Siobhan R "My daughter was let down zndxzd a result she died"
Neil B "Any poor treatment, whoever it's by, has to be investigated."
Sharon M "Mr Patel I am sorry for your loss I am losing complete faith in the NHS. It isn't lack of money , it is lack of care from some NHS staff and a lack of efficiency of the said staff.......... Every day now I have friends whose family are being treated like second class citizens in hospital ."
Richard M "I have signed this to HELP others and also because I have been waiting since 2020 to SEE a doctor about a lump growing on my right arm the doctors where I live in The New Forest are still using Covid as an excuse not to see people face to face about health problems. Thank you."
Paul K "It’s the right thing to do having lost a parent to what I consider poor care"
Samantha G "I've had situations where doctors or technicians have neglected, mistreated or recorded incorrect data on myself or members of my family and no one in the NHS wants to acknowledge or address those incidents"
Anoni M "they cover up for each other"
Elaine A "I have signed this because of a bad experience at Pinderfields Hospital and got nowhere with my Pals complaint who always work along side the NHS , so I agree that it needs an independent body who will look into complaints properly and fairly without feeling like your banging your head against a brick wall "
James A "It is very much requireed"
Pamela D "There should be better investigations."
Jaya vH "I currently have a complaint about my care being investigated. There have been and still are issues with the investigation"
Alan R "The NHS is failing because of the government. and quite a lot of people have been brought in to do a special job and these don't have the experience ,maybe you should do a complaint about that instead of the good few nurse's we have"
Glynis P "This is happening too often !!!"
Delise J "I totally agree. I've often wished there was somewhere to complain when I haven't recieved the right treatment."
Jim B "The NHS is an out-of-control mess and needs sorting out"
Michelle P "I am waiting on an NHS complaints outcome, surrounding the death of my mum in February. I feel these should be independent reviews, from my previous experience on health and social care complaint, all stuck together and covered each others back with lies!"
CHRIS D "7.8 million people diagnosed with a health issue and waiting for a hospital appointment. Even the Ukrainian refugees are going home for treatment."
Donovan P "Because healthcare is a Disgrace"
Jerry C "Sadly, there is no such thing as an "indepedent" watchdog or ombudsman. They're always appointed by the Establishment - without any public consultation - so whose interests will they represent?"
N A "I have been let down by the NHS on several occasions"
Caroline W "Waiting times, lack of experience and empathy and misdiagnosis are among a few along with lack of duty of care, we are entitled to the best for what we pay, but it seems the fat cats just want to line their own pockets. It is not the staffs fault as they are under extreme pressure without the resources to maintain good quality of care"
Elaine R "Because far too many people have died unnecessarily because they were pumped full of midazolam and morphine. Then it was put down as Covid"
Pamela A "This sickened me!"
Roseanna McP "My brother died needlessly and all I got was 3 different stories as to the cause of death in 4 hours."
Rachel W "NHS can’t mark their own work!"
Pamela W "They are Bias"
Colin A "My last encounter was told to sit in hospital waiting room, I had a deep craft knife cut ( had an operation ) I was actually bleeding out bad, towel wrapped around hand red & dripping, I got to the shivering/ shakes & passing out stage, a fellow patient led me back to reception, panic face on receptionist, " you should have told me you were bleeding " obviously didn't understand a 70 mm deep knife wound actually passes blood !!!!" Colin Auty "Spot on !!" Colin Auty "What a great point .."
Phil R "I’ve had experiences where I’ve been sent all around the houses trying to lodge a complaint. One person has said one thing then the next gives a different story then I get oh I don’t know where you thought you heard that no one would ever tell you that. Word of mouth lies as nothing is being put in writing. Sent in circles, end up feeling like your sanity is being questioned.PALS is a joke.Same with CQC, there are some awful dangerously run hospital systems with good CQC reports. The CQC inform the hospital that they are coming for inspection, they should turn up unannounced or posing as patients and see what the facility is really like."
Jaswinder M "I lost my father due to hospital staff, and doctors."
H Secker "Agreed, the NHS should be honest and admit when they have made mistakes. We all agree that they do a wonderful job but sometimes the duty of care is not met and definitely falls short on occasions."
Peter C-J "We have experienced the lies and deceit of the cover-up culture and don't believe any family should have to endure the pain inflicted"
J Nylander "I was in this same position...blamed, shamed and left alone without my children, All due to lies, corruption cover ups and misdiagnosis there is nothing on this planet that could get me those years back. I wish you both the best my two beautiful boys. Thomas and jack.. cant wait to see you when your back. I was too afraid to speak publicly and never wanted you to have it as i did...no father i thought i had broken the cycle with love and learning. Me and mummy miss you so so much. You were both the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. We are waiting....same house we will be here until you may come back. Love you. Thomas Hannam."
Amar M "I am signing because i truly believe that nhs staff do not look after patients very well and neglect patients Please look into this"
Rachel H "I’m signing this due to the gaslighting I received from my local hospital when I was in early stages of pregnancy! I suffered HG which is an extremely dangerous form of morning sickness, the hospital continued to inform me that “I just had to get on with it and breathe” they sent me home multiple times with dehydration, low potassium and bringing up blood! In the final visit I was at the start of kidney failure but yet still sent me home stating I was “well” In those several visits I was moved from ward to ward even placed on Labour ward where I was left for hours without any one checking up on me, no offer of meals or drinks and no medication all this while sat by myself in a dark room with just my thoughts and fears!!! I asked one nurse if I was going to die … she said yes … then back tracked when my husband asked her to repeat what she said apparently she “misheard” what I had asked!"
Anne-MC "The independence is key to credible investigations."
Wendy S "We must protect the vulnerable whether old or young and have accountability"
Gregg R "I have experienced two similar family traumas. Whilst PALS has been helpful they do not have sufficient powers to probe and apportion blame. A statutory body with teeth is required."
Lydia A "This has impacted a family member"
Pasquale Di L "Was compelled to cross swords with this body some time ago: complete and utter stooges for shockingly poor patient care service. After a long slog to try to obtain an official admission of medical incompetence, was fobbed off with the usual platitudes. Got an apology of sorts from them only after contacting the trust CEO. PALS is not fit for purpose and should be consigned to the bureaucratic scrapheap, where it belongs, along with the hospital trusts that allow them to flourish."
Glenda M "To right the wrongs"
David E "The complaints process is designed to abuse people. The reason why it takes over a year, is because there's a 1 year deadline for legal action for human rights violations. That's why the complaints process stretches out so long and is futile. You can watch a video about the NHS Complaints Process, and how it needs to be changed at:PHSOtheFACTS - the complainant's journeyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xeO5AKqstc"
Shaniece B "Last year 2022, my father had spontaneous bowel perforation. They treated him like he was already dead. They had no interest in even trying to help him and they just left him to die. They didn’t give him the oxygen he needed, they didn’t give him the antibiotics they promised me he would be on, they barely gave him painkillers. Watching someone be in that much pain in supposedly “the best place they can be” and just left to die, no help, nothing. They were ghost staff the whole time only until an hour after he passed in excruciating pain and someone finally decided to get off their butt to confirm his death. Then all of a sudden 30 odd nhs staff were outside his room passing their condolences on to us. They didn’t even try to save him. They didn’t even try!. :’( the most painful experience I’ve ever seen and felt. I can’t imagine how my dad felt. And PALS did nothing!."
Alicia M "We lost precious hours with my dad because the hospital did not call us when he went downhill. We arrived at the hospital for visiting and my dad was already so poorly I don't think he knew we were even there. We were put into a side room and had an hour until he drew his last breath. He was deaf and blind and must have been so scared. Had they have contacted us the night before when he looked bad we could have been there. Instead we were left with just his body. We were robbed of those precious hours to tell him we loved him and give him some comfort at the end of his life. We were told he had had a scan the night before but when he had passed the hospital said he hadn't had a scan at all. It was cruel and completely unnecessary"
Jean Riding "Long time coming"
David S "Because the NHS is corrupt, and has a 'code of silence' not unlike the Police."
Ann H "The people absolutely deserve this!"
Patricia S "It’s the right thing to do"
Annabelle J "Complaints need to be investigated"
AVRIL V "The NHS is not fit for purpose. Patients should come first in every respect. NHS is top heavy with unskilled management and patients are suffering and dying needlessly. Heartbreaking. Disgusting."
Janet J "Had action been taken sooner, the baby murdering nurse would have been stopped much sooner than she was. The enquiry into why she was allowed to continue for so long must be an independent one. If not, the efforts to keep the NHS safe from accusatory denouncements would probably be repeated. All enquiries into deaths and injuries must be independently judged."
Polly B "I believe most of the problems stem from the fact that hospital managements rarely have any medical experience whatever. They see their job as being to shield the hospital from adverse publicity. This has to stop."
Maggie B "The NHS is huge and mistakes are sometimes inevitable. But when these occur we need an independent organisation to investigate with honesty and transparency."
A
nnibale M "The parliamentary ombudsman are full of s##t they write down incorrect statements, give you along waiting time and then say you have run out of time. They even said they sent me a email which they hadn't, they in hand with the NHS AND THE GOVERNMENT. After 22months of waiting nothing happened because I had run out of time, because they dragged their heels."
Debbie L "I agree that hospital staff should be regulated better"
Mark C "I'm currently at a large NHS trust complex with 8+ different levels of security. I'm in the "assessment ward" for minimum risk patients to be help "while under assessment". Since day 1 arriving I'm forced to witness blatant obvious direct discrimination against very vulnerable unwell patients who mostly seem to be only suffering from many many physical health issues but are sectioned on voluntary basis but just days after arrival are "upgraded" to sec 2 or 3 without even meeting the doctors who make these decisions....they are then held here often under severe restrictions without any explanation whatsoever. While here patients experiencing chronic pain & multiple other medical issues are shut down from accessing any sufficient medical assessment & if they manage to escalate these issue to see the duty doc they will again be ignored & fobbed off with ibuprofen gel for serious/chronic pain.....& will often spend weeks attempting to gain relief. Abuse by staff is the norm here but my attempts to escalate & reports"
Philip Ma "What the NHS gets away with is criminal at times."
Simone Z "I would want accountability if this was my son."
Lewis A "Mum and I went through losing my dad to a heart attack. He had several red flags on his notes regarding a potential heart condition which a GP and a clinician at a local hospital failed to act on, because of which, he died unnecessarily and in the prime of his life. He sadly passed away at home with us around him in December 2017. 6 years on it still hurts, the house feels empty. What's worse. The hospital board and GP surgery closed ranks, critical mistakes were made and they escaped justice. Our lives have been changed forever and not for the better, yet the clinicians responsible for his death by failure to treat and put the proper steps in place, are still treating patients today with untarnished records, one clinician continues to this day to taunt us both. There is no justice for his death, that's what hurts. The Welsh Health Service failed him and his death as confirmed by independent specialists, could have been prevented easily, that's what hurts. a simple operation and treatment, he'd be alive toda" j lamb "I agree. NHS trusts close ranks and I have seen staff tell blatent lies at a loved ones inquest...an independent body hopefully would stop this and may actually improve healthcare, rather than sweep problems under the carpet."
Max McC "There needs to be a law against wrongdoing and corruption but there won't be because all of our systems are corrupt." Mark Turner "I can cite several examples of ignorant stupidity."
Diane M "Had bad experience with close family members in the past"
Janina C "Of my own experience and my sister's experience."
